Design Guidelines - Custom Flags

Design Guidelines

We have very few requirements for creating your custom order!
Just follow these simple guide lines and it'll be a snap!

Once you place your order - please email your order details, also include your company name in the subject line, and attach your art  file along with a jpg for reference to:
info@flagandsignusa.com

To download the template please right click and save target to your desktop!

PLEASE SAVE YOUR ART FILE AS AN EPS IF POSSIBLE.
SPECIFY PANTONES:—we need Pantones specified for two reasons:

 1. Everyone uses different computer monitors and settings, so your art may appear different than it will print.

2. A computer screen is illuminated, so the colors will appear different on the screen than they do in real life.

If you are using a bitmap image for the art, the file must be .tif format, 150 dpi, full size output and ready to print for us to be able to use it. No guidelines should be on raster artwork. Color matching is NOT available for raster artwork.

We prefer all artwork in a vector-based format.

What is the difference in vector and raster artwork?

  • Raster Files: Raster files are made up of tiny squares, known as pixels. The appropriate pixels are filled in to represent a design's lines and arcs. The quality of a raster file is measured in DPI (dots per inch). In order for us to use a raster file, the file must be at least 300dpi. We cannot enlarge an existing raster file without losing some of its graphical quality. Color Matching cannot be provided on raster artwork.
  • Vector Files: A vector file, on the other hand, is a file whereby lines and arcs are stored as vector coordinates. This means that vector files are made up of precisely defined entities, each with its own beginning and end, rather than lumpy groups of pixels as found in raster files. Vector files can be enlarged and manipulated without loosing any graphical quality. We prefer Corel Draw Graphics, but we can work with these file types as well: tif, eps, ai, cd…etc.  Also note: Clipping masks are not usable on our end, so please remove them before sending your art.

 PROOF & PRODUCTION POLICY:

    •  NEOPlex takes pride in accuracy - Final examination for accuracy is your responsibility. Before giving approval, please examine all proofs carefully for the accuracy of information presented including: spelling, punctuation, numbers, graphics, colors, sizes and general layout.
    • Please note: Normal production time begins from the date we receive proof approval. We can’t accept changes or approvals verbally. The proofing process is composed of an initial layout and a revision proof. After these initial modifications it is your responsibility to adjust and correct your graphic content if need be.
    • Custom products are NOT returnable for less than a 50% restocking fee, and must be authorized before a return will be accepted.

ACCEPTABLE FORMATS FOR CUSTOM PRINTING:

  • EPS - Encapsulated Post Script (preferred)
  • CDR - Corel Draw 12
  • AI - Adobe Illustrator CS3
  • Jpeg - High Resolution or 300 DPI @ actual output size (Color Matching cannot be provided on raster artwork)
  • Tiff - High Resolution or 100 DPI @ actual output size (Color Matching cannot be provided on raster artwork)

For the best quality & quickest turn around, please follow these file preparation tips:

  1. PROPORTION - Scale design to proper output size.
  2. FONTS - Avoid sending us "vector" fonts from Corel or Illustrator,
convert the fonts to curves (Corel) or outline the fonts (Illustrator).
This changes the script from a font to actual artwork. There are 1,000's
of fonts, plus variations. If our software does not have the exact
font, it will substitute and can change the look of the layout dramatically. You may also include the necesary fonts with your art.
  3. FULL BLEED - Add 1/4" to full output size.
  4. PLEASE - No small gif, tiff or jpeg's copied from web pages. They won't work!
  5. PLEASE - Other than for relaying ideas, NO Microsoft Word or Publisher.
They are not graphics software and won't work for you final artwork.
  6. PLEASE - Remove any clipping mask before sending your art.
